Keyword Volume Checker

Compare a single keyword's monthly volume, CPC, and trend side by side across multiple countries.

Up to 3 countries per check. Upgrade for up to 8 countries per check.

How it works

The Keyword Volume Checker takes one keyword and returns its monthly search volume, CPC, advertiser competition, and 12-month trend for each country you select. The result is a side-by-side comparison of one keyword across markets. An overlay chart shows at a glance which countries have the most demand for the same query.

Results while you wait. Each submission makes one upstream call per selected country, all in parallel, and returns in a couple of seconds. There is no bulk mode on purpose. The table's axis is already the country, so a grid of keywords by countries would blur every per-country signal.

One currency. Every per-country CPC is converted to one currency before display, so the column compares directly across rows. USD is the default, and you can switch it with the dropdown. The currency you pick is sent to every per-country call.

Plan caps. Your current plan allows up to 3 countries per check. Platinum unlocks the full 8. The country list itself is fixed at Global plus 7 named markets, the full set our upstream supports, so Gold and Platinum both deliver the same coverage.

Country-units quota. The free-tier daily quota counts country-units, not submissions. A 3-country check uses 3 units from the daily budget, and an 8-country check uses 8. That keeps cost in line with usage however wide you spread each check. Paid plans pay only their own account credits.

Known limitations.

  • The country list is fixed. We support what our upstream supports: Global plus 7 named markets (US, UK, CA, AU, IN, NZ, ZA). We cannot add a country the API does not cover.
  • Averaged over 12 months. Per-country volume is Google's average monthly searches over the trailing year, so a market's seasonal peak is smoothed into its yearly average. The per-country sparklines show the seasonal shape behind each number.
  • Global is not a country. Global is the worldwide sum across every market the upstream covers, so it always looks largest. The "hottest market" summary leaves Global out of the country comparison for that reason.

What the columns mean

Country
The market the row's metrics were fetched for, with its flag, name, and country code. Click any country to open this keyword in our SERP Checker for that country.
Search Volume
Google's average monthly searches for the keyword in that country, from Google Keyword Planner via the Keywords Everywhere API. The strongest signal in the table for which market to target first. The overlay chart above the table plots the same data for all selected countries on one shared scale.
CPC
Cost per click in the currency you selected, converted from the country's native CPC. The column header shows the active currency code. A high CPC across several countries signals a keyword with strong buying intent everywhere. High in one country and low in others points to local advertiser activity.
Competition
Google's 0 to 1 score for the keyword in that country's Google Ads market. Higher means more advertisers bidding. Useful as a relative score across countries, since commercial competition is more concentrated in some markets than others.
Trend (12 mo)
A per-country sparkline of monthly volume over the past 12 months. Click it for a larger chart with exact monthly values. It helps spot seasonal differences. Gift keywords spike in November and December everywhere, while swimsuit keywords peak in different months by hemisphere.
Overlay chart (above the table)
All selected countries plotted on one shared scale, color-coded, with a clickable legend. Click a legend entry to dim or hide that line. It is the one-glance answer to "where is this keyword biggest" and "where is it growing".

Frequently asked questions

What does this Keyword Volume Checker do?

It takes one keyword and returns its monthly search volume, cost per click, advertiser competition, and 12-month trend in each country you select. The result is a side-by-side comparison of one keyword across markets, the opposite shape of a normal bulk volume tool. Use it to decide which countries are worth targeting before you build localized content.

How do I check keyword search volume?

Enter your keyword in the box and tick the countries you want to compare. You can also paste a deep-link URL with repeated ?country= parameters. Pick a currency for the CPC column and click Compare countries. We make one upstream call per country and return the per-market table, plus an overlay chart of how the keyword's monthly volume has moved in each market over the past year. Results arrive in a couple of seconds.

What is monthly search volume?

Monthly search volume is the average number of times a keyword is searched on Google each month, reported per country. It comes straight from Google Keyword Planner via the Keywords Everywhere API, the same source most professional SEO tools use, averaged over the trailing 12 months. The same keyword almost always has very different volume in different countries. That is exactly what this comparison shows.

Why use a multi-country comparison instead of running a single-country check 8 times?

Two reasons. First, this tool makes the per-country calls in parallel, so 8 countries come back in about the same time as one. Second, the overlay chart and per-country sparklines share one scale. You can see at a glance which market is biggest, which is growing fastest, and which has the highest CPC. Doing the same comparison by hand across 8 tabs loses that side-by-side view.

Why is the CPC shown in one currency for every country?

A cross-market CPC table is only useful when the values compare directly. If we showed USD for the US, GBP for the UK, and INR for India, you would have to convert in your head before you could answer "which country has the highest CPC?". So we send the same currency code to every country call. USD is the default, and you can switch it with the dropdown. The upstream API converts each country's native CPC to your chosen currency, and the column header shows the active code.

How many countries can I compare in one check?

Your current plan allows up to 3 countries per check. Platinum is the maximum at 8. The list of supported countries is fixed by what our Keywords Everywhere API supports: Global plus 7 named markets at the moment. So Gold and Platinum both unlock the full set. If you need a market we do not cover, that is an upstream limit, not a plan limit.

Why does Global show such a different number from the named countries?

Global is not a country. It is the worldwide total Google reports across every market it covers, so it is always the largest by definition. When Global is selected, the overlay chart shows it as a separate "worldwide searches per month" pill above the chart. That keeps it from skewing the "hottest market" comparison among real countries.

How is this different from the Search Volume Checker?

The Search Volume Checker handles many keywords in one country: paste a list, pick a country, see a flat table. This tool flips that: one keyword across many countries. Type a keyword, tick countries, and see a per-country table plus a comparison chart. Use the Search Volume Checker when you have a keyword list to qualify. Use this tool when you have one keyword and need to know which market to target first.
