Gemini Personal Intelligence: what it connects and where it is available

Published: Last updated:

Personal Intelligence lets the Gemini app shape answers from a user's own Google data. It launched on 14th Jan 2026 as a US beta for paid plans and is now a beta almost everywhere.

Personal Intelligence is the Gemini app's personal layer. It draws on a user's Gmail, Google Photos, Search and YouTube activity to shape answers.

It launched on 14th Jan 2026 as a beta for Google AI Pro and Ultra plans in the US. Google's overview page now describes a much wider beta, with four markets excluded.

A separate Personal Intelligence exists in AI Mode. It links Gmail, Photos and Calendar to Search, with its own exclusions, and is tracked on the AI Mode tracker.

The entry below carries the launch and its sources, on our Gemini tracker.
